Poker Drop Boxes on Your Table
Poker drop boxes are devices used for storing the pot money and to keep the game on a smooth flow. It is very common in so many poker tables. Despite of its very common use, there are still a lot of people who often misunderstood how this device really works. They can never know how it really functions unless they take a closer look on it and even hold it with their own hands. A poker drop box has a lot of features that makes the system work.
One feature of this drop box is what it commonly called dual key system. A poker table drop box has two different keys. The first key is being used to open the side of the drop box where the money is removed, while the other one is to easily remove the drop box away from the poker table. This would allow the cage manager or the money person to be different from the poker dealer. This gives them a totally different identification from each other.
The physical features of the drop box or the physical layout of the box has of course two openings with different purposes. The opening on the side of the box has a separate key. This is the side where the money is removed from the drop box. The opening on top of the box is the area where the money is inserted. The money inserted is the bet of the players. Before the poker table drop box is inserted in the table, the top opening of the drop box is kept open and it will remain that way until the key is inserted to it. As soon as the top opening is the box is opened and is being inserted to the poker table, a small latch will be triggered. When that small latch is triggered, the drop box is locked in place and it is secured.
Nobody can remove the drop box from the table unless he or she has the key to it. One interesting fact about this is that, the moment that key is turn or twitched to be able to release the poker drop box on the table, the top hole made of spring will automatically shut off. This will prevent anyone from getting money from the drop box. It also allows a person that removes the money from the box to have a different identity from the person who place money inside the drop box.
